Formed in 1903, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas® is one of the oldest and largest organizations of Catholic women in the Americas. The Catholic Daughter motto is “Unity and Charity”. Our mission statement: Catholic Daughters of the Americas strives to embrace the principle of faith working through love in the promotion of justice, equality, and the advancement of human rights and human dignity for all. Our Court Mount of the Holy Cross was started on March 19, 1925. We have women from Immaculate Heart of Mary, St Ann, St Joseph and Sacred Heart parishes.
We are involved in a number of charitable projects, at the local, state, national and international levels. Locally, for instance, we hand-make bags and fill them with personal items for our women veterans at the Veterans Hospital. We participate in the Pregnancy Center baby shower. We donate to Hope West’s Camp Good Grief, for children who have lost a parent and Compassionate Friends, a group for parents who have lost a child.
We would welcome any Catholic woman interested in being part of the organization to come to one of our meetings. They are usually held on the second Sunday of each month at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. If you would like more information, please call Treva on 639-2209. We look forward to meeting you.
