Father Chrysogonus was born in 1964 and was ordained a priest in August of 1995 for the Catholic Diocese of Ahiara, Mbaise, Nigeria. Among other places he has served both as Parochial Vicar and Pastor in the Diocese of Ahiara, Mbraise, Nigeria; Montego Bay, Jamaica, West Indies; and Rockville Centre, New York. Within the Diocese of Pueblo, he has served as Parochial Vicar of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Grand Junction; Administrator of Sacred Heart Church, Paonia; and Pastor of Sacred Heart Church, Fruita from where he was sent to us on the 7th of January, 2019.
Father Chrysogonus’ early studies were at St. Joseph Major Seminary Ikot Ekpene in Nigeria. He obtained his first and second degrees from Urban University in Rome. Here in the United States, he obtained Masters and PhD. Degrees on Education from the Jesuit University; Fordham, New York. His dissertation is entitled: “Fatherhood and a Child’s Education” published in 2009.
Father Chrysogonus is the Director of Drops of Hope Foundation (dropsofhopefoundation.com), an organization which helps with the education of young people and provides healthcare; and assists with the economic empowerment of women in Eastern Nigeria.
In his spare time, Father Chrysogonus also enjoys studying nature, playing ping pong, and lawn tennis.
Above and beyond all these things, he is a seasoned pastor and a courageous administrator.
